Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced earlier this week and looks to be an absolutely kick ass instalment into the series. Sure, it’s based in the future once again, but it seems to do away with any fancy boost jumping and exo-suit gameplay. It’ll also be the first Call of Duty game to skip last-gen.
It looks like you may be needing to grab and Xbox One or PlayStation 4 this year as Infinite Warfare is only coming to current-gen consoles. Black Ops 3 was the last title to land on last-gen and even then, it was a multiplayer-only affair.
The news was confirmed this week by the Infinity Ward Twitter account in reply to users asking if it would be coming to Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3:
@samadelo5 no, it will not.

In other news, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be once again favouring PlayStation 4 as all DLC will come to PlayStation 4 30-days before other platforms. Though that’s hardly surprising considering Sony struck a deal with Activision before the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
As for the Modern Warfare remaster, that seems to be what’s pulling most players into pre-ordering the game. Interestingly, Activision has also confirmed that Modern Warfare Remastered will not be released as a standalone title and will only come as part of the Legacy Edition which will cost a fair bit more than the Standard Edition. The Legacy Edition is also exclusive to GAME here in the UK.
