Square Enix and Avalange has announced that the second content pack from the Air, Land, and Sea Expansion pass for Just Cause 3 is set to launch later this week from June 3.
Mech Land Assault will take Rico Rodriguez to a brand new island in Just Cause 3 called Lacrima, home to an abandoned eDen research base and a prison camp run by the Black Hand. Although the island may look picturesque, it’s a dangerous isle patrolled by powerful Mechs. Fortunately Rico can make the most of this tech, thanks to the Bavarium Power Core rifle.
This rifle will not only allow him to take them down by disabling their shields, but also hijack them, making use of their powerful cannons and GRIP Gravity Guns to rain hell on the enemy. There’ll be two types of Mech that Rico can hijack, allowing him to control them around the new island as well as the rest of Medici.
“The Bavarium Wingsuit from the Sky Fortress DLC fundamentally changed how Rico could traverse Medici. This time, we wanted to shake up how Rico interacts with his environment in a similar way,” explained Tobias Andersson, Senior Producer at Avalanche Studios. “The new Mechs allow Rico to throw enemies, vehicles and chaos objects around like tennis balls – increasing the scope for physics-based fun. Whether you’re juggling a small car or punching helicopters out of the sky, the Mechs give you the opportunity to mess with your surroundings in creative, explosive ways.”
The Mech Land Assault pack for Just Cause 3 will launch on June 3 for Season Pass holders, or on June 10 for everyone else. The pack will be available standalone for £9.49, or players can grab the Season pass for £19.99 and gain access to the previous DLC.
