SEGA have commented that it is “very interested” in bringing a number of Atlus games to the west and Europe.
Following the recent news that NIS America would not be publishing any more Atlus titles in the West, SEGA have now expressed their own interest in release games in the West and Europe. The recent purchase of Atlus by SEGA however does look to have some positive outcomes with this news.
Speaking to MCV, SVP of commercial publishing John Clark at Sega made the following statement:
We’re very interested in bringing all of the group’s Japanese content not just to the West, but to Europe in particular. We are always trying to find a way. And that’s an on-going process. That’s something we are continually assessing and talking to and if there are really strong opportunities to support the Japanese content in Europe, we’ll do it.
Could this news finally see a US and EU release date for Persona 5? Etrian Odyssey V? There are so many games that could finally make their way to our collections. Only time will tell what will come of this statement but hopefully it ends well for the gamers.
