Another video game-based board game has launched on Kickstarter and has secured funding almost instantly. This War of Mine: The Board Game launched on the crowdfunding service and managed to achieve its initial goal of £40,000 in just a few hours.
Based on the video game, This War of Mine: The Board Game has players working together to survive the war-torn environment making tough moral choices, fighting, surviving, and building shelter. The game itself will be a role-playing experience for up to 6 players, it’ll feature 430 high quality components including 12 figures, a companion mobile app, and over one thousand unique stories.
The game itself is being adapted by Neuroshima Hex! developer Michal Oracz accompanied by Dying Light storyteller Jakub Wisniewski.
For those unfamiliar with the game itself, the creators hope to make it simple enough for anyone to play with an open & play system that makes it easy to start playing without previous learning the rules, there’ll also be the ability to save games too.
As of writing the campaign has smashed through the £40,000 goal and is currently sitting comfortably at over £77,000. A number of stretch goals have also been unlocked, including a “help the children” promo card, an alternate version of the board, and a brand new miniature. Other stretch goals have also been revealed which include more playable miniatures.
It’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of the Dark Souls board game which is currently killing it on Kickstarter.
