FIFA 17

Surprise! EA Sports has this week unveiled FIFA 17, like we didn’t already know it was coming. And much like previous reports, they’ll be ditching the Ignite Engine in favour of DICE’s Frostbite Engine.

The official reveal came with a good chunk of information including the game’s release date, as well as a number of special editions which players can now pre-order. Hell, there’s even a trailer.

Set to launch on September 29, the game will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The new trailer, which you can see below, gives us a glimpse of the game in action, but doesn’t actually offer any insight on gameplay and features, though a fuller reveal will take place at E3 2016.

EA Sports has opened pre-orders for the game however, so you can dive in early and grab one of the many special editions, The Deluxe Edition and the Super Deluxe Edition.

For those looking to grab the Super Deluxe Edition, you’ll be able to conveniently pre-order that through the in-game menu in FIFA 16, and save 10% while you’re at it.

Pre-ordering the game will also bag you a bonus of a FIFA Ultimate Team Loan Item of one of the four FIFA Ambassadors. This year’s ambassadors are Eden Hazard, Anthony Martial, Marco Reus and James Rodríguez.

Finally, EA Sports confirmed that FIFA 17 would indeed be a Frostbite Engine game meaning the Ignite Engine has been given the… red card… even though it only found itself powering a couple of games.
