I’ll be honest, I’m not really a Final Fantasy fan, of all of the games, I only really ever dabbled into Final Fantasy VII and enjoyed it, but could never really commit too much to the game. However, when news broke that Final Fantasy XII will be getting remastered, well, the Internet lost its mind.
Originally released for PlayStation 2 back in 2006, the game will be getting remastered for PlayStation 4 in 2017. Square Enix announced the news via its YouTube channel, releasing a brief trailer which shows the game’s new HD visuals.
The release, entitled The Zodiac Age, is apparently based on the International Edition of the game which never saw a release outside of Japan, and will come with a tweaked combat system and a new Zodiac job system.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will also feature revamped character models, cutscenes, and an auto-save feature, plus shorter load times, and an improved turbo mode. The score has also been re-recorded, though the original soundtrack is also present.
