Xbox Summer Update Begins Roll Out

From today, Xbox One / Windows 10 players can begin downloading and updating their consoles with the Xbox One Windows 10 Anniversary / Summer Update, which brings Cortana to the system, as well as Background Music and more.

The update, which has been in Preview Program members’ hands for around a month now, is finally rolling out to the rest of the world. The update will bring Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-activated assistant to the console, as well as playing background music from hard drives or through streaming services like Pandora.

In addition to those, a Games Hub has been added to Xbox Live showing the top-ten most played PC games on Windows 10. Microsoft is also combining the “best of Xbox Store and Windows Store” into a more unified experience across devices.

Other minor additions are things such as Language Region Independence, and a new Xbox App on iOS and Android. There’s also improved sharing, Facebook friend finders, and 60 FPS game clip recording on Windows 10 with full-screen support.
