Here’s a bit of an odd story… Battlefield is getting its own television series… A game known more for its multiplayer content than its fairly poor campaign…
Yep, apparently Anonymous Content, the company behind the True Detective series, will be at the helm, collaborating with Paramount and of course EA to make it a reality. Also on board is Michael Sugar, who won an Academy Award for Spotlight, as a producer.
“Battlefield has a tremendous built-in, engaged fan base, making it a highly coveted piece of IP primed for long-form adaptation,” he said. “Together with EA and Paramount TV, we’ll develop the Battlefield TV series with the same commitment to robust storytelling that has made the game such a runaway success for nearly 15 years.”
There’s currently no word on when the TV series will air, nor what the show will be about. It could possibly be based around the Battlefield 1, World War 1 era, alternatively, it could be based on the Bad Company series, which would be pretty awesome.
