For a little while now the lead actress for Marvel’s Captain Marvel movie has been rumoured on the grapevine as being Brie Larson, and as of this weekend, that casting has now been confirmed.
At the end of the Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 section of Marvel’s Comic-Con panel this weekend, Brie Larson appeared from backstage fairly dramatically to officially confirm that she’d be playing Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’ll of course be playing the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel.
Rumours of Larsen as Captain Marvel have been circulating as early as June when news surfaced that she was in “early talks” for the role. It looks like those talks went well as she’ll be taking the role in the 2018 movie.
This has now finally filled the gap in Marvel’s five-year plan from 2014.
