While DONTNOD may be busy on their upcoming RPG Vampyr, the studio has something else up their sleeves, and it’s a little… different.
DONTNOD are a pretty diverse studio, first they released an intense hack and slash game under Capcom’s wing, Remember Me, then they joined Square Enix for the release of their touching adventure game, Live is Strange, now they’re working with Focus Home Entertainment on a victorian-themed RPG, Vampyr.
However, that’s not all they’re working on as this week they unveiled not only a new game, but a brand new self-publishing initiative / studio called DONTNOD Eleven. The new studio, formerly known as HESAW, is now working on their first game under the DONTNOD wing, a multiplayer shooter titled Battlecrew Space Pirates.
Set in an “iconic” Space Pirates universe, players will take control of various heroes that’ll co-operatie or compete for space treasure. According to the press release, Battlecrew Space Pirates “includes innovative in-game community features, events and challenges.”
The first trailer for the game can be seen below.
““We are very excited about the announcement of DONTNOD ELEVEN® and its game: BATTLECREW™ Space Pirates,” said Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DONTNOD Entertainment. “The goal of our collaboration is to help those talented independent developers and benefit from their know-how. They’ve been working on this game for about a year and we’re happy to help them achieve their goal of releasing this fun, exciting and innovative gaming experience.”
Battlecrew Space Pirates is set to land on Steam in Early Access allowing players to dive into the game early and provide vital feedback to shape the game as it heads towards full release.
