The cover of EA Sports’ latest instalment in their football sim series, FIFA 17, has yet to choose its cover star, but rather than choosing one themselves, they’re allowing fans to decide.
EA Sports have launched a cover star vote for FIFA 17 that’ll allow fans to choose from four FIFA ambassadors: James Rodriguez of Real Madrid C.F., Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC, and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund.
The poll is now open and will run until July 19 at 11:59PM PT. You can vote once per day, so if you really want to see one of these players on the cover, then you can vote multiple times. Lovely.
“James, Martial, Hazard, and Reus represent exciting, attacking football and epitomize the innovative play that fans can expect in FIFA 17,” said Nick Channon, Senior Producer for EA SPORTS FIFA. “We’re excited to see fans rally around their favorite players and see who they select as the cover star for the franchise, and the footballer who will represent FIFA 17 globally.”
What’s more, to add more weight to your vote, you can also head to Twitter and use the hashtag #FIFA17(player’s surname), so if you wanted to see Hazard on the cover, you can use the hashtag #FIFA17Hazard, for extra votes.
There’s currently no word on whether a female cover star will also be chosen for the cover as with FIFA 16, though it’s been rumoured that the new game will feature more female teams than the previous title, raising it to 16 from the previous 12.
FIFA 17 is scheduled for release on September 29 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
