Forget the Mini NES, Take a Look at These Two Classic Mega Drive Consoles

Back before there were Xbox and PlayStation, the big console war was between Nintendo and SEGA. Since then, the two have settled there differences, but back in the nineties the feud was well-publicised, and it’s looking like it may happen again.

Earlier this month Nintendo unveiled the Mini Nintendo Entertainment System, a standalone console which looks like a miniature NES loaded with 30 class NES titles. Hoping not to miss out on the classic retro hype, SEGA has now thrown their classics into the mix, Now AtGames is hoping to cash in on this nostalgia, though they’re not quite as adorably miniature as Nintendo’s model.

FunstockRetro has this week announced a brand new Officially Licenced SEGA Mega Drive range which includes a two-player home console complete with original cartridge slot, and a handheld console (with an SD card slot). Both of these handhelds come packed with 8- classic built in games, like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 through 3, Mortal Kombat 1 through 3, Golden Axe 1 through 3, and much more.

It will be released to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s 25th Anniversary (originally released June 1991) in October 2016.
