Life is Strange is probably one of the best games from 2015, and now you can dive into the time-bending drama for free later this week when the first episode becomes free.
Square Enix and DONTNOD Entertainment have announced today that from July 21, the first episode of the award-winning and critically-acclaimed narrative driven game, Life is Strange, will be available to download free on consoles and PC.
The first episode, entitled Chrysalis, is the first episode of the game’s five-episode series and introduces players to the game’s main characters, budding photographer Max Caulfield and old friend Chloe Price. It’ll also introduce players to the game’s time-bending mechanics which allow Max to change the cause of time, though doing so brings with it come interesting consequences.
“Although our team set out to create an award-winning narrative we still cannot believe the response we’ve had from players of Life is Strange” said Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DONTDOD Entertainment. “We’re really glad that Square Enix have decided to give the first episode away for free so more players can begin their journey and see why people have fallen in love with the game for themselves.”
I absolutely fell in love with the game from the very beginning. Although the game does struggle with teenage drama at times, the story itself is one that really shouldn’t be missed.
I’d of course point you toward our reviews for the game, but they are full of spoilers. However, if you want to know what we thought, find our review of the first episode here.
A new trailer for the game has also been released, see that below:
