Hotline Miami Comic Spinoff “Wildlife” Smashes Onto The Scene

Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami could be described as a modern indie classic, marrying a sickeningly trippy neon 80s aesthetic with fast top-down action gameplay built around quick deaths and quicker retries. For those who might prefer their animal-masked killers and grisly gangster slaughterfests in digital print form, Dayjob Studios have released Hotline Miami: Wildlife, a spin-off comic series set in the same universe following different characters.

Set to be an original eight issue series, Wildlife will follow the story of Chris, a new character struggling to deal with an oncoming war, his self-destructive tendencies and the “pseudo-patriots” of a group known as 50 Blessings. The comic aims to take fans of the Hotline Miami games to new locales and introduce new masked figures whilst still exploring the dark and disturbing themes the series is known for. Whilst the comics will not be canon to the rest of the series, Dennaton Games did give Dayjob their blessing after their previous work on the digital comic series for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

With Federico Chemello and Maurizio Furini writing as well as Alberto Massaggia, Ludovica Ceregatti, Andrea Dotta and Andrea Errico providing the art, here’s hoping the comic world will be able to get their own hit of the Hotline.

Hotline Miami: Wildlife can be purchased in CBR or PDF form from Dayjob’s official website, with the first issue priced at $1.99. The complete series can be pre-ordered from the same page for $11.99.
