Around four weeks ago now, we saw the launch of EA Games’ Mirror’s Edge reboot, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, but how well is the follow-up to the 2008 cult phenomenon actually doing? Pretty well, according to the publisher.
Despite the game receiving mixed reviews, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is doing just as well as EA expected says the company’s global publishing head Laura Miele, in an interview with GamesIndustry:
“We are pretty happy to bring this character and this world to market. It’s a big open world game, so we made a lot of evolution from the original experience and we’re very proud of that,” she added.
In our review, we gave the game a 7.2, saying “every aspect of the game has seen the flaws being corrected bar the combat. But it’s still an enjoyable game, regardless.” You can read our full Mirror’s Edge Catalyst review here.
Miele didn’t reveal any other information about how the game performed in terms of sales, but she’s definitely proud to have brought the game to market.
It’s interesting to hear that the game is meeting expectations rather than exceeding expectations, though that really doesn’t reveal much in terms of overall sales performance as we’re not sure what EA expected of the new title.
