Following a Tuesday release, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens lands in the number one spot in the UK Gaming Chart this week, and becomes the ninth different LEGO game to debut at number 1.
Despite this, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is only the fourth biggest LEGO video game launch of all time, landing behind Indiana Jones, Marvel Super Heroes, and Batman. It’s also the fourth biggest launch for a Star Wars game, falling behind Battlefront, The Force Unleashed and Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith.
Last week’s title holder, DOOM, actually falls down to fourth place this week following good sales of FIFA 16 and Overwatch, which land in second and third place, respectively. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End also sees a fall in position landing in fifth place this week.
In terms of new releases, Bandai Namco’s Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness debuts in sixth place followed by Telltale Publishing’s first published title, 7 Days to Die, which lands in ninth place.
Focus Home Interactive’s The Technomancer also launched last week, but failed to hit the top ten charts in thirteenth place, followed by the Wii U release of Minecraft which lands in eighteenth place this week.
