There’s some disappointing news for PlayStation 4 players this morning who are hoping to get their hands on an early version of the dinosaur survival game, ARK: Survival Evolved.
Studio Wildcard has revealed that ARK: Survival Evolved won’t be coming to PlayStation 4 in its current state, meaning players will have to wait until the game is completed before it makes it onto Sony’s console.
In an update, the developer wrote:
“As for the PS4 Release of ARK: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony. We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished. We would like nothing more than to make ARK available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.”
From that statement it looks like Sony is the one to blame, but that may not necessarily be the case as early versions of games are currently on the PS4 such as Paragon and 7 Days to Die.
Fortunately, it doesn’t look like players will have to wait too long, as Studio Wildcard updated the final completion date for the game on PlayStation 4, saying ARK: Survival Evolved will be out this “holiday” season.
