For anyone looking forward to getting their hands on Gran Turismo Sport later this year, you may have to look for another racing game to pass the time as Sony has announced that they’re delaying the game until 2017.
Gran Turismo Sport, the PlayStation 4 exclusive racer, was set to launch this November, but in a new post over on the PlayStation Blog, GT boss Kazunori Yamauchi announced that it was being pushed back into 2017. To make matters worse, there’s no new release date for the game.
“As we approach our planned release date in November, we realise we need more time to perfect GT Sport, to which we’ve already dedicated so much effort to since announcing the title, and do not want to compromise the experience,” Yamauchi said. “While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.”
Of course, any fan of the Gran Turismo series is likely unsurprised by this delay, as pretty much all GT games have suffered delays of sorts. Sport on the other hand was set to be a more slim-lined approach to the usual GT fare, so it’s odd that even a much smaller game is still being hit with delays.
You never know, GT Sport may make a comeback as a fully-fledged GT title?
