If you were looking forward to getting into CD Projekt Red’s Gwent: The Witcher Card Game early, then you may have a little more of a wait on your hands as the beta has been delayed until October.
The beta, originally set to take place on PC and Xbox One in September, has been pushed back a month until October 25. The reason for the delay is so the developers can use the extra time to make sure the game is ready for testing.
“Unfortunately, we feel we need some extra time with the game before we hand it off to you for testing,” developer CD Project Red said in a statement. “We know we can make a first impression only once, and want to be sure everything is ready before we blast off,” the developer revealed. “Delivering a good game is more important to us than keeping a deadline. Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t realise that delays can be disappointing, and we apologise for making you wait.”
Unlike the Gwent game found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will offer a ton of new features to cater to a much larger standalone game as well as the game’s competitive multiplayer.
