Fans of Digital Extremes’ free to play space ninja hack-and-slash RPG Warframe better get ready because Digital Extremes have released a big new update for the game titled The Silver Grove, adding a new Warframe, new systems and giving the game a bunch of tweaks.
The new Warframe in question is the somewhat ironically-named Titania, whose abilities include deploying swarms of razor-winged butterflies to rend her enemies asunder, distracting opponents with shiny lures and the particularly interesting ability to shrink herself down and become a small but deadly flying fairy courtesy of her built in Archwing.
Of course, that’s not everything Digital Extremes have added – the recently added in-game team sport Lunario has seen some tweaks and additions, including improvements to the mode’s matchmaking systems, a dedicated “Pass” button being implemented as well as a new map featuring sideways nets and mid-field ramps.
There’s also a new eponymous quest, which sees the New Loka organisation enlist the Tenno to help protect a sacred forest from the Grineer that have set up camp there, as well as a new Glyph system that allows players to leave a number of rather adorable spray tags around the game’s various maps.
Fusion, a fundamental component of improving one’s Tenno player character in Warframe, has also been radically overhauled with the addition of the Endo system. Where previously players would have combined the various stat-buffing mods they collect with another mod to improve the latter’s effect, mods can now be broken down into the Endo resource and directly funneled into whatever mods players would like to invest their Endo in to improve them, similar to a direct level-up system.
There’s a lot more to be found in the update – a full breakdown can be found here.
Warframe is available to play for free on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Take a look at The Silver Grove’s highlights video above.
