While we’re all waiting in anticipation for the Battlefield 1 Open Beta, you can get your WW1 shooter fill early with the PlayStation 4 release of Verdun.
Developers Blackmill Games and M2H has this week announced that their ruthless WW1 shooter, Verdun, which has been available on PC for some time now, has launched on PlayStation 4 with an Xbox One release to follow.
The game throws players right into trench warfare as teams of 16 are set against each other for domination over the battlefield. Primarily a multiplayer shooter, players can choose from a handful of game modes, from Attrition, a simple team death match, to the land-claiming Frontlines game mode mentioned above.
There is also a co-operative wave-based game mode called Squad Defense which has players face-off against AI enemies.
Admittedly, it’s not quite as fancy as DICE’s Battlefield 1, but from what I’ve played so far, it definitely takes some skill to succeed.
The game is available to purchase on PlayStation 4 right now, and if you purchase before September 30 you’ll also get a 25% discount.
