3Doodler PRO Wood Mixed Media

The 3Doodler has come along in leaps and bounds since the first iteration of the device launched on Kickstarter in 2013. The world’s first 3D printing pen managed to secure over $2 million, and has since then launched a second edition, a kid-friendly version, and now this, the 3Doodler Pro, a professional-grade 3D printing pen which not only writes in plastic, but various other materials too.

The 3Doodler Pro is designed with creative professionals in mind, from architects, to engineers, to artists and expands its capabilities past plastic. This new version will be able to expand the creativity of its user by bringing brand new materials into the mix, as the new Pro plastics include wood, copper, bronze, nylon, and polycarbonate, as well as the 65+ compatible varieties of plastic from the 3Doodler Create range.

Maxwell Bogue, Co-Founder & CEO said:

“Beyond the numerous upgrades, what really makes the PRO so unique is how the device and materials come together to answer the needs of professionals. When we started the 3Doodler journey back in 2013, we had world-leading architects telling us ‘I want to do this’. ‘This’ was a quick wave of the pen in the air, with plastic solidifying in its wake. With new materials like polycarbonate that dream is a reality. The high-performance PRO can be used for the most advanced of purposes to bring concepts to life, and become an integral part of the creative process.”

3Doodler PRO Arch Modular Options

In addition to the new materials, the 3Doodler Pro also has some new features within the pen itself including tactile adjustable dials for temperature and speed, an adjustable fan for user control over the cooling of the plastics, and a new LED display showing the pen’s settings.

The new high-speed fan allows for creations to become solid even quicker allowing solid structures to be built in one swift gesture, this makes creating blueprints, for example, much easier as the creature can create a visual representation of their idea in 3D rather than through line drawings on paper.

Despite the swath of new features, the 3Doodler Pro remains light and comfortable in the hand due to the carbon fiber shell, making it just as easy to use as the 3Doodler 2.0 and even the 3Doodler Start which has been designed with kids in mind.

Packaged in a premium storage case, with accompanying accessories, the 3Doodler Pro is the ultimate design tool for professionals. The Pro can be yours for the pretty reasonable price of $249 and it’s available right now from the MoMA Design Store. The Pro will also be coming to other stores such as Amazon and 3DoodlerPro.com soon-after.

Can someone please hep me out here? I would love to have the 3Doodler Pro pen, but not sure if I can buy it before finding out more about the battery. I love the untethered idea of the Pro pen and the only article that I have found so far regarding the battery is this one http://apm-designs.com/3doodler-pro-review… but even this article is limited to the information regarding the battery. Can anyone else tell me the charge capacity and more importantly how long can the pen be used on a full charge? I suspect the 3Doodler Pro sucks some power and… Read more »
