If you were wondering what the status of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile games were, then we may have some bad news: Nintendo has revealed that they’ve delayed both of the games until next year.
This may not come as much of a surprise for some of you who saw that Nintendo announced a brand new mobile game during Apple’s Keynote earlier this week. Super Mario Run will be the first proper mobile game coming from Nintendo, and is a Flappy Bird-like tap game which has Mario running through various worlds.
The news of the delay came via a press release sent out shortly after Super Mario Run was announced. The Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile games are now scheduled to launch by March 2017, the end of Nintendo’s financial year.
“Super Mario Run represents the next phase of Nintendo’s expansion to mobile platforms, following the release of Miitomo earlier this year,” Nintendo explained in the release. “After the launch of Super Mario Run in December, Nintendo plans to deliver its previously announced mobile device titles in the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem series before the end of March, 2017.”
With all eyes now firmly on Super Mario Run, we’re hoping that Nintendo’s first proper mobile game will be a success. Super Mario Run is expected to land first on iOS later this year.
