It’s safe to say that this year’s EGX event in Birmingham was a huge success. Gamer Network’s consumer show, EGX, came to an end yesterday after seeing a record number of exhibitors, press, and attendees swarming to the NEC to get hands-on with some of this year’s biggest games.
At the event there were over 200 playable games, some of which were massive AAA titles like Call of Duty and Titanfall 2, but the majority of games pulling punches were found over in the Rezzed area where over 100 games were on show.
“EGX 2016 was our biggest and best show yet,” said Rupert Loman, CEO and co-founder of Gamer Network. “I’d like to say thank you to all of our partners, sponsors and exhibitors for helping create another outstanding experience for UK gamers – and of course I must thank the community for making the event so special. Next year will be the 10th anniversary for EGX and we are already planning to mark that milestone with something even more spectacular.”
With over 75,000 attendees, the show was a huge success and once again shows that despite its move from London, the UK’s biggest consumer gaming show can still thrive up here in the Midlands, and it’s only getting bigger!
Next year’s show has also been confirmed for September 21 through September 24 at the NEC. EGX Rezzed will be taking place in London at the Tobacco Dock from March 30 through April 1, 2017.
