Final Fantasy XV Abbey Road Performance

Now, I’m conflicted on this one. On the one hand, I still think that turning Final Fantasy XV into a huge cross-media event is really going to kick Square Enix hard if the game itself is anything less than a masterpiece, but on the other hand they’ve announced that a number of songs from the game’s soundtrack will be performed live on YouTube and Twitch this evening – streamed from London’s Abbey Road Studios.

Yes indeed, the very same studio that famously housed The Beatles will play host to the new Final Fantasy game’s soundtrack tonight at 7pm BST. The soundtrack’s composer, Yoko Shimomura (whose credits also include Street Fighter II and the Kingdom Hearts series), will be on-hand for the hour-long performance to provide some commentary on a selection of the songs being performed.

Given the stellar soundtracks the Final Fantasy series have produced in the past, it’s sure to be an hour of some pretty superb music.

The Final Fantasy XV Soundtrack Live Performance can be viewed on either the official Final Fantasy XV YouTube channel or the Square Enix Twitch channel. The performance will begin at 7pm BST.
