The very first teaser trailers for Ghost in the Shell are here, and hopefully they’re enough to bring people around to the idea of a western white woman playing the role of a Japanese “full-body prosthesis” augmented-cybernetic human.
The teaser trailers, five in total, offer us a glitched-out look at the movie as well as how Scarlett Johansson will portray Motoko Kusanagi, an augmented human who’s the field commander of Public Security Section 9.
Ghost in the Shell will follow the Major, a special ops team made up of human-cyborg hybrids who lead the aforementioned Section 9. The team focus on stopping dangerous ne’er-do-wells and in the movie will be faced with the most dangerous of all, an enemy that plans to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
