This week, Square Enix and Io Interactive have announced that the fifth episode into the Hitman series will be launching later this month and will have Agent 47 creeping around a Colorado farm compound – quite a departure from the sun-soaked buildings of Italy.
Episode 5 is titled “Freedom Fighters” and looks to be the toughest mission yet, as this Colorado farm compound has been converted into a private militia training camp. There’s a total of four targets to take out this time, Sean Rose, Maya Parvati, Ezra Berg and Penelope Graves, each of which are very different people with their own special skill sets.
Players will discover all-new opportunities and disguises, plus there’ll be 70 challenges to work through to unlock new gear, weapons, and items to use in all existing locations. There’s also some pretty big story revelations unveiled as the series builds to its climax.
“This is one of the toughest episodes yet. Not only do you have four targets, but from the moment you set foot in Colorado you’re on enemy ground. ‘Freedom Fighters’ is a key episode, which will add serious momentum to the story and set up an intriguing season finale for players.” – Hannes Seifert, Studio Head at Io-Interactive
Hitman has so far seen a total of six missions including the Prologue and the Bonus Summer Mission which launched earlier this year. The Season Finale, which takes place in Japan, will arrive later this year.
In 2017, Hitman will then re-launch at retail offering the entire collection of episodes all in one neat package.
