Today, IK Multimedia announced their next generation iRig guitar and bass interface, the iRig HD 2, the first iPhone 7 compatible instrument interface bringing high quality live performance and recording to Apple’s latest device.
The iRig HD 2 connects to devices via the Lightning port and will offer 24-bit/96kHz pristine noiseless sound, absolutely perfect for not only recording ideas or even full tracks, but it’ll offer higher fidelity sound during live performances. What’s more, due to no longer needing the 3.5mm headphone jack, it’ll work with the iPhone 7!
The new interface will offer “24-bit analog-to-digital conversion and a best-in-class 96kHz sample rate that delivers an ultra clean, pure noiseless guitar signal to devices and computers,” the company said in a press release.
IK Multimedia have also brought along some features from the iRig 2 such as an input gain control, a thru/FX switch allowing users to bypass or engage processing to the output, as well as a mic stand clip and velcro strap, it’ll also feature an amp-out jack.
In terms of new features, there’s an integrated headphone output jack with a preamp and level control allowing musicians to monitor performance, whether live or recording, what’s more, seeing as the iPhone 7 doesn’t have a headphone jack, it can also be used to listen to music.
Unlike its predecessors, the iRig HD 2 will also offer a free copy of the full version of Amplitube 4 for Mac/PC as well as iPhone/iPad giving musicians access to an entire library of stompboxes, amps, cabinets, microphones, speakers, rack effects and more, so they can really mix up their sound.
iRig HD 2 is available now for pre-order from IK Retailers worldwide or from the online IK store for only $/€99.99. iRig HD 2 will be available and shipping late September, 2016.
