For those of you who can’t afford to keep up with the ever-growing demand of PC games, there may be a new way for you to play the games you want to play without breaking the bank: Playkey.
Playkey is a new cloud gaming service which has recently launched in the UK. It provides PC gamers with the technology they need to play the games they want to play, using hardware they can afford. In fact, Playkey claim that you’ll be able to play the best-selling games on “virtually any PC, Mac, or laptop”.
The service features games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Fallout 4, as well as “over 20 triple-A titles” with the library being updated each month.
So, how does this work? In a similar way to the now defunct cloud-gaming service OnLive, all of the processing is handled via powerful servers allowing you to sit back and enjoy your game and worry less about your PC exploding.
Once registered, players can instantly start gaming absolutely free with a choice of free-to-play games. However if they’re looking to get some time with the latest games, prices start from £0.90 for one hour, or £9 for one month of access.
Egor Gurjev, CEO at Playkey, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be launching Playkey in the UK and our goal is to bring high-quality gaming to everyone, not just those with high-specification PCs. The gaming industry is constantly evolving and growing. We want to provide gaming fans the games they love, without the worry of their technology letting them down.”
In addition, Playkey can play the games you already own, allowing you to purchase full games through Steam, but utilise the power of Playkey to play the games on any computer you own.
So, how do you get access? Simply head to the Playkey website and sign up. You’ll be able to make the most of a free launch demo period, and all games are available “as is” including mutliplayer, social features, and achievements.
