SMAC Games’ Tokyo 42 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017 publisher Mode 7 has announced.
Over on the PlayStation Blog today, publisher Mode 7’s Paul Kilduff-Taylor revealed that they’re bringing SMAC Games’ isometric assassination action game to PlayStation 4 next year, and in a separate press release Mode 7 confirmed it’d also be launching on Xbox One and PC in 2017.
For those who have missed this game up until now (why?!) the developer has described the game as “Syndicate-meets-Monument Valley-meets-Worms”. It’s an open-world game where players take the role of an assassin who get tasked with various missions to build up funds and reputation in the criminal underworld of this futuristic Tokyo.
Probably the most exciting part of this game (aside from its devilish good looks) is the game’s multiplayer where handfuls of players attempt to seek out opposing players as they try and blend in the crowd (while also trying to hunt out other players, too).
This ability to swap skins and blend in with the crowd also plays a big part of the single player game as they can infiltrate other rival gang members as well as accessing certain areas if you’re wearing the correct attire.
This game is definitely one to keep an eye on, for sure.
