Google Pixel and Pixel XL

After much build up and plenty of leaks, Google has finally announced their new Pixel and Pixel XL phones.

The new Pixel and Pixel XL are confirmed to be what tech fans hoped for and more. The 5 inch, 1080p display of the Pixel and 5.5 inch Quad HD panel on the Pixel XL are the first thing you’ll notice about these stunning new devices. Designed by Google, built by HTC, the Pixel and Pixel XL are packed with the latest and greatest technology to help deliver what Google hopes is the best experience on a phone to date.

Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, and are available in 32 and 128 GB options. They also include a 12.3 megapixel camera and a 8 megapixel front facing camera. The back contains a fingerprint sensor to allow for fast unlocking and the device has a ton of sensors such as accelerometer, gyrometer and more. It retains the 3.5 mm jack (Yay!), a USB 3.0 and USB Type-C port, but with just the one SIM slot, no dual SIM option is available. There are plenty of other impressive specs available which you can find the full break down here.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are heavily geared towards the new Daydream Virtual Reality platform, so the Android software has been tailored to reflect this. Included in the software is the new Google Assistant built right in to provide answers, perform tasks, searches, and more with ease as a rival to Apple’s Siri. There are plenty of exciting features within the camera as well, with the Pixel and Pixel XL’s rear camera scoring 89 in DxOMark. This makes it the highest scoring camera to date, which is fantastic news for any aspiring photophiles.

There is of course going to be plenty more details on the new Pixel and Pixel XL soon as we approach the proper retail release of the phones.
