While I’m sure there’s still a good debate to be had over whether or not the new Hitman game should have been episodic or not, it could be said that gap between each episode has given the developers time to craft some brilliant environments for players to assassinate their targets in and by a number of accounts the game itself has been pretty great so far.
With that in mind, Square Enix and Io-Interactive have just announced that the Hitman “season finale” – expected to arrive on October 31st – will be taking place on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.
The Hokkaido location will see players hunting two targets within the sprawling, “hyper-exclusive” GAMA private hospital and resort, which comes complete with Zen gardens, an organic sushi restaurant and a traditional Japanese hot spring.
Hannes Seifert, Studio Head at Io-Interactive, had the following to say on the season finale’s announcement:
“It was a brave decision to go fully digital episodic with Hitman, fundamentally changing how we make the game, and for us it has been a major success. I want to say a big thank you to all the players for making this possible! Together we’ve built and run the biggest and most replayable locations of any Hitman game and added new live content every single week since launch. And although we’re now completing season one, this is only the beginning for our ever expanding World of Assassination.”
Hitman is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The season finale, Hokkaido, will be released on October 31st.
