Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon are set to launch next month, but already the games are proving to be a huge win for Nintendo thanks to record breaking pre-order numbers.
Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have broken records and have become the most popular Nintendo game ever. This overtakes the likes of Mario and The Legend of Zelda, and the two games haven’t even launched yet.
The two titles, according to Nintendo, have become the most pre-ordered games in Nintendo history outnumbering any other Nintendo game. This is hardly a surprise considering the Sun & Moon demos which launched this month became the most popular demos in Nintendo history, too.

This of course is once again the fallout from the success of Pokémon Go which had players of all ages head out into the world to hunt down virtual Pokémon. Though numbers for the mobile game have dwindled over the past couple of months, the app has certainly helped reinforce brand recognition across the globe.
Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon launch on the Nintendo 3DS on November 18 / November 23 in Europe.
