If you are one of the many players who have used exploits in GTA Online in order to acquire copious amounts of cash, you may find that your account is a little lighter the next time you load up the game. This is because Rockstar has recently purged a ton of ill-gotten cash from the game in order to balance the economy. It’s not all bad news however, as the developers are also giving all players GTA$ 250K to celebrate the game’s third anniversary. Oh and a Halloween event is coming too.
It’s a very busy time for Rockstar Games indeed as players have reported over the past few days that they’re actively cracking down on those with massive bank balances from exploits. Nothing major is happening other than having that cash removed. It’s more of a slap on the wrist than anything. As always it’s just the cash that’s being removed. Anything purchased with the money ahead of the purge will remain in the players’ possession.
If you’re feeling a little lighter in the pocket, don’t worry as Rockstar have you covered with a free donation of GTA$ 250,000 to celebrate the game’s third anniversary. Players who log into GTA Online on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC from today through October 31, will receive the cash. Sadly this does exclude last-gen players as Rockstar ended support for those games a little while back.
To help you spend that cash, a 30% off sale is currently underway across pretty much all stores throughout GTA Online, so now is a good time to grab that weapon or vehicle you’ve always wanted.
Finally, as Halloween is coming up, Rockstar has detailed exactly what events will be taking place. Starting October 28, players will be able to take part in a Lost Vs. Damned event which has players battling it out as Angels or Devils, with a day/night cycle shifting every 60 seconds. As the day / night shifts, Angels and Devils will receive bonus buffs, better weapons, and more.
Finally, all Halloween themed vehicles will be making a return.
