Twitch has announced and rolled out a new premium subscription service by the name of Twitch Prime.
The service offers a number of benefits including ad-free viewing, a free channel subscription every 30 days and even offers free monthly in-game loot. All this and more thanks to the inclusion of Amazon Prime meaning you can get free two day shipping, members discounts on new box game released, streaming of TV shows, movies, music and much more.
If you already own Amazon Prime then the Twitch Prime benefits will be automatically added once you link your accounts. It’s worth noting that Twitch Turbo is still available exactly as it has always been, but most of it’s features are included in Twitch Prime.
Jumping back to those monthly in-game rewards your be happy to know that this month includes Tyrande Whisperwind, a new Night Elf Priestess Hero for Hearthstone along with a new cardback. Your also get Steamline, a newly released Indie Game for PC, an exclusive Boss Ymir skin in Smite and lastly, a sweet blue crown badge next to your name in chat.
Twitch is of course one of the largest live streaming services available at the minute with an impressive 1.5 million broadcasters and 100 million visitors per month in 2015. They do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon and has continued to look for new ways to offer features to it’s users. Twitch Prime, mixing with Amazon Prime, is definitely a different if creative approach for Twitch to give users benefits and encourage them to shop more. It will be interesting to see how Twitch Prime plays out for both Twitch as a company and platform and it’s users.
The service is available for $10.99/£7.99 a month and is included in Amazon Prime so really it’s great value for the money.
