Dark Souls 3 #2

The Golden Joystick Awards was held today in London where many of a developer or development studio were rewarded with shiny trophies for a number of awards.

The Golden Joystick Awards allows for the public to vote for its winner and gives the power to the people in a range of different awards. The Complete list of winners is below but the Game of the Year award went to Dark Souls III. The much loved Overwatch went on to be ranked 2nd for Game of the Year but took home a number of other rewards.

More notable in the list of awards is that Titanfall 2 was given the Critics Choice Award, which was somewhat surprising given the mixed response the title got. Likewise, the award for Most Wanted Game went ahead to Mass Effect Andromeda and not a title such as the new Legend of Zelda.

-Best Gaming Moment: Play of the Game in Overwatch
-Upcoming YouTube Personality of the Year: Jesse Cox
-Studio of the Year: CD Projekt RED
-Innovation of the Year: Pokémon GO
-Lifetime Achievement Award: Eiji Aonuma
-Best Gaming Platform: Steam
-Best Gaming Performance: Dough Cockle as Geralt of Rivia
-Competitive Game of the Year: Overwatch
-Nintendo Game of the Year: The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD
-PlayStation Game of the Year: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
-Xbox Game of the Year: Rise of the Tomb Raider
-PC Game of the Year: Overwatch
-Best Handheld/Mobile Game of the Year: Pokémon Go
-Breakthrough Award: Stardew Valley
-Golden Joystick Hall of Fame: Lara Croft
