Gearbox Software

Gearbox Software head Randy Pitchford has teased an upcoming announcement for the studio following a number of tweets.

During an exchange with fans on the social network site, Randy Pitchford dropped the news that an announcement from Gearbox Software will be made on December 1st, 2016. It’s just so interesting to note that the date is also when The Game Awards is being hosted. This could mean that we might see the announcement during the ceremony.

Though there is no word on what the announcement will be for, be it a new game or a follow up to a current series I’m sure Randy Pitchford will surprise us. That said Gearbox have made it publicly aware that they want to make a new Borderlands and Duke Nukem game. Though following their recent title of Battleborn and it’s poor release it would be a shock to hear if this announcement was related to that series. As for Duke Nukem would that really be something people want? Hard to say. We will have to wait until December 1st and The Game Awards to see what happens.

It is also worth remembering that The Game Awards will also be hosting the premiere of gameplay for The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. Along with the first look at the gameplay of Mass Effect: Andromeda. There will even be an award given to Hideo Kojima to celebrate his efforts and achievements within the gaming industry.

The Game Awards will be broadcast online on December 1st, 2016 on a number of different sites including Twitch and YouTube. You can see the nominations for this years awards here.
