Everyone’s favourite indie farming sim or country-life game as some call it, Stardew Valley, will be launching on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 14. The game was also due to release on Wii U, but sadly we have some bad news.
Stardew Valley became an absolutely huge hit earlier this year when creator Eric Barone launched the game on Steam. The game’s adorable presentation and addictive gameplay sent players into a frenzy and even now the game is receiving favourable reviews on the platform.
So you can imagine how excited we all are that the game will be coming to consoles pretty soon. However, Wii U players will be missing out.
Sad news for Wii U players is that the game will no longer be coming to the platform, instead, Barone plans to shift development focus onto the Nintendo Switch.
“I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley,” explained Barone. “I do want to emphasise that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.”
