Developer The Creative Assembly have been working on the Total War series for some years now. The strategy game is known for it’s historical focus as it has been set in a number of different eras, with the exception of course of Total War: Warhammer.
Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, Creative Assermbly’s brand director Rob Bartholomew stated that the series will be taking placers to “an era we haven’t tackled yet”. This statement was also reinforced by creative director Mike Simpson who added “Yes…It’s not something we’ve done before.”
Seeing as the series has already visited eras such as medieval Europe, the Napoleonic Wars, the Roman Empire, 16th century Japan, where it goes next is anyone’s guess. With Creative Assembly housing a number of different development teams they sure keep themselves busy. It is worth noting that they are also working on the next Halo Wars as well which many are looking forward to.
In the meantime the latest DLC expansion for Total War: Warhammer has been announced. Realm of the Wood Elves is set to the be “biggest DLC to date” for Total War: Warhammer. Due on December 87th, Realm of the Wood Elves will bring the eponymous Wood Elves to Total War: Warhammer’s Grand Campaign alongside a mini-narrative crusade The Season of Revelation.
Total War: Warhammer’s Realm of the Wood Elves DLC is due on December 8th and the next Total War game will sure to be detailed more in the coming weeks and months.
