Microsoft have detailed the upcoming Holiday update for Xbox One which is set to bring a number of new features to the console including the previously announced Clubs and Looking for Groups.
Clubs on Xbox Live are gamer-created and managed groups for players to become a part of and help meet new people. It’s also a great way to grow a community based on certain topics or subjects. Anyone can create or join clubs too, so soon enough there’ll be a club about everything.
Club members can set up parties, play games, share content, and communicate using text and voice chat across both Xbox One and the Xbox app on Windows 10, iOS, and Android.
If that wasn’t enough, the new Looking for Group feature will help players find others that want to play certain games. Described as a gaming classified, this Looking for Game feature allows players to essentially frantically wave at other players who may be interested in playing the same game. Using this feature will have players complete daily quests, achievement hunts, and much more.
In addition, Microsoft has added a new Achievement Rarity rating that’ll now show players just how unique an Achievement is among the community. When players achieve rare Achievements, a special notification will appear with a little diamond icon next to it.
There’s also the addition of a Gamerscore leaderboard so you can see who amongst your friends have achieved the highest Gamerscore in a 30 day period. So get competing!
Group Messaging is another new feature allowing several players to join in on group messages via Xbox Live. And to make things a little more expressive, the virtual keyboard on Xbox One now has Emoji support!
The update is available on Xbox One right now, so what are you waiting for?
