The Drone Racing League and Toy State Partner for Line of DRL Toy Drones

If you’ve been following the Drone Racing League and have been itching to get behind the FPV headset but realise you have zero skill and money to take up the sport, then we may have some good news for you. The Drone Racing League has announced a multi-year partnership with Toy State to create a line of co-branded toy drones.

This three-year licensing deal with Toy State will see a line of Nikko Air DRL Drones being thrust into stores as early as Fall 2017 following the conclusion of DRL’s second season that’s set to begin this coming Summer.

“We’re incredibly excited to develop the Nikko Air DRL Drones with Toy State and inspire the next generation of elite drone pilots,” said DRL CEO/Founder, Nicholas Horbaczewski. “Nikko is the most respected name in RC vehicles and partnering with them as they introduce this new line of flying RC toys into the market is a natural fit for us. Young fans watching DRL on ESPN and Sky Sports who want to be like their favorite DRL pilots will have an unprecedented opportunity next year to experience the thrill at home.”

Of course, those familiar with drones both big and small will likely recognise the Nikko Air name from the line of Nikko Air Nano and Mini drones. Whether this line of new drones will follow a similar concept or whether they’ll be designed to look similar to the drones used by DRL competitors, remains to be seen. Though we’ll be keeping our ears close to the ground for more news.
