If we keep making Transformers movies eventually after a few dozen they may finally become pretty decent. Transformers: The Last Knight is one of those films by the looks of it.
Here’s a quick summary of how I feel about these films series directed by blockbuster military enthusiast Michael Bay.
Transformers: On its own it’s Okay. It introduces everything and Bay’s slapstick humour works, but the fight scenes are poorly filmed.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: I’m part of the fallen. Revenge the cost of my cinema ticket.
Transformers Dark Side of the Moon: Boring and forgettable. That what’s you get for a movie that’s way more interested in the beardy guy from Grey’s Anatomy.
Transformers: Age of Extinction: A step in the right direction. Hope for the future. Though if you think about it, it kind of falls apart.
So my theory is; slowly but surely this franchise will get better. So after another 10 or so they’ll get pretty good. That’s what I hope. Maybe the action will be better filmed, maybe the humour will get better, maybe the designs of The Transformers will get better, who knows? Maybe Michael Bay won’t have to direct these films anymore to trade favour at Paramount?
Here’s the trailer for the new flick:
So, what did we see? Well, Anthony Hopkins is turning up. Josh Duhamel and Mark Wahlberg are back, too. Bumblebee is back, Optimus dies, but he did in that in Revenge of the Fallen… Maybe everyone forgot that, or at least blocked it out.
Oh… and what looks like Unicron? Could the giant planet eating Transformer from the animated movie be on it’s way to Earth? But, why? I’m sure a convoluted plot will explain this.
Also, will I get to finally see the Star Saber based on all the swords I saw in this trailer?
We’ll have to find out on June 23, 2017.
