IK Multimedia Unveils iRig Pro I/O at NAMM

IK Multimedia, the creator of the popular iRig multi-instrument audio interface that’s compatible with a range of mobile devices, has today unveiled the iRig Pro I/O at NAMM, and oh boy, it’s a corker.

The iRig Pro I/O is the “next generation ultra-compact audio/MIDI interface” and they’re not wrong. This tiny device is capable of so much more than any iRig in the past thanks to its ability to not only work with guitars and basses, but also MIDI devices and XLR microphones.

The new iRig Pro I/O gives musicians the ability to achieve high quality recordings on the go with minimal fuss thanks to its incredibly compact size. Featuring high-definition audio I/O, a professional quality preamp, as well as MIDI input/output, there’s plenty of opportunities to get those must-hear spurs of inspiration recorded in 24-bit/96kHz pro-quality audio.

The device comes with various different ports for both high quality input and output including a MIDI in/out for connectivity with keyboards, controllers, synths, sound modules, and more. There’s also a 1/8″ headphone/line out port for real-time monitoring on the go. A combo XLR 1/4-inch input allows for both guitars/basses as well as microphones to be connected, there’s even the ability to switch on 48V phantom power for powering condenser or active ribbon microphones.

The iRig Pro I/O can also be powered a number of ways, either with the onboard 2 x AA batteries while connected to iPhone/iPad, or via USB power when connected via USB to Mac/PC. There’s also the addition of a DC port which can not only power the device but also charge a connected iPhone or iPad.

Finally, as with most new iRig interfaces, users will also receive full versions of AmpliTube for iPhone and iPad, as well as AmpliTube 4, SampleTank 3 SE and T-RackS Deluxe with Mic Room, all of which are worth over $500.

The iRig Pro I/O will be available this April from IK Multimedia’s online store and other authorised dealers for $149.99
