Tekken 7 was set to launch in “early 2017” but today Bandai Namco has officially announced that the game has been delayed slightly and will now be launching on June 2. While this may be slightly disappointing for some fans, at least we have a solid release date now.
The game is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this June and is being touted as the “culmination of the highest levels of fighting game development” surpassing its arcade counterpart with additional balance and tuning. The game will also include a new Story Mode, more characters, and the addition of online tournament modes.
In addition to the game’s launch date, Bandai Namco has also unveiled that Tekken 7 will also be available in a Collector’s Edition that’ll include the Deluxe Edition of the game andthe Season Pass, and a statue that measures around 30cmx45cm featuring Kazuya fly kicking Heihachi mid-air. There’s also a Steel Book and the official Tekken 7 soundtrack.
The Season Pass, that’ll also be available standalone, will give players access to three content packs that’ll be coming to the game following its launch. It’ll include new playable characters, new stages, game mode, costime packs, and a bonus 35-piece Metallic Costume Pack.
Finally, those who pre-order Tekken 7 will be able to grab Eliza, the vampire character who made her debut in Tekken Revolution. Xbox One players will also receive a free backwards compatible version of Tekken 6.
A new trailer has also been released which you can see below:
