Red Mage Final Fantasy XIV

Following the announcement of the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV; Stormblood. Fans have been waiting for more information to drop. Well thankfully at the latest Fan Fest event that was just what happened.

First and foremost is that news that that Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will release on June 20, 2017. Alongside this was the reveal of a collector’s Edition which will be available for both PC and PlayStation 4. It will include special packaging, a figure of Zenos – the antagonist of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, an artbook, cloth map of Eorzea, and more. There will also be a digital collectors edition which will include a Syldra mount, a Bartz (Final Fantasy V) minion and a Chicken Knife for the new Red Mage class.

Speaking of which, yes, The Red Mage is coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. The first of many new jobs coming to the game, the Red Mage is a DPS who makes use of ranged magic but also has rapier and magicked crystal medium as a weapon as well. The Red Mage will start at level 50 and players will be able to grab the job early on in the story. The battle design will see the Red Mage using red magic, a mix of black and white magic, along with the rapier to unleash massive damage. Using chain spells and special actions the Red Mage will be able to get in close and attack from afar.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will also introduce swimming and diving. Entering a body of water which is marked suitable for swimming, sorry shallow rivers and puddles, your character will start to swim right away. Flying mounts will be able to swim but sadly regular mounts will not. Also you will be happy to know that there will be no fighting in water so you can just chill. Diving will require a location with deep water and there will be no need to come up for air because magic, why else. Flying mounts will also be able to dive with you in suitable areas.

Also coming in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will be a number of new beast tribes offering up a number of quests and NPCs to interact with. There will also be a number of new raids as well included in the expansion. This includes Omega Weapon which will appear in the upcoming patch 3.5 and connect to the main story line in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. New alliance raids will be added and a new alliance raid titled Return to Ivalice.

In all there is a lot coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood when it releases later this year. From the new story line and Red Mage to the end game raids, there will be plenty to keep players busy. Until then the upcoming 3.5 patch will add content to get players ready for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.
