Dreamlords Digital have this week revealed that their upcoming SRPG, Graywalkers: Purgatory will be coming to Early Access in the first quarter of 2017. This follows its successful Kickstarter campaign which secured the developers $47,305 to make the game a reality.
Graywalkers: Purgatory is a strategic tactical turn-based RPG set in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world set after an event called “The Rupture” which saw parts of Heaven and Hell merge with Earth. The game draws inspiration from titles like XCOM, Jagged Alliance, and classic Fallout and Wasteland games. With all of those ingredients in mind, the game sounds like it’s going to be a pretty epic adventure.
In the game players will take the role of the prophesied leader of Purgatory, a landmass made up of several displaced masses from across the globe. As the leader, players will help protect the Greywalkers, a band of 36 people destined to protect mankind.
The game will feature three modes, a campaign, a mission-based skirmish mode, and a multiplayer mode that’ll be added through a free update. The Early Access release will begin with Skirmish, however. The game will also feature six races to choose from with more being added through DLC.
From what we’ve seen so far, the game looks like it will have a lot to offer with more to come as development continues. It’ll also offer a more table top RPG experience over the more traditional turn-based games, which is pretty intriguing.
Initially set to launch in Early Access on PC, the game will also be ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 a little further down the line.
