If you were wondering what exactly the Telltale Games Guardians of the Galaxy game may entail, then don’t wonder any longer as GameStop may have just leaked it all.
Set to release on April 27, according to the retailer before they pulled the date from the listing, Telltale Games’ Guardians of the Galaxy will tell a “brand new story” of the gang of misfit heroes, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.
“In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
“From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.”
Marvel and Telltale Games announced their partnership in 2015 and the upcoming Guardians game back in 2016, though details of the game remained unknown up until now. While the release date could be a placeholder, an April 27 release would put it in line with the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in cinemas. Seeing as it’ll be an episodic game, it coincides pretty well with the theatrical release.
While this is all rumour at the moment, we do know that Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be launching on PC, consoles, and mobile, at some point this year.
