Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta Coming February 23

Ubisoft has announced the dates for the Ghost Recon Wildlands open beta, which will begin on February 23.

Having missed out on the closed beta, I can’t wait for the open beta to begin. Players just as excited as me will be pleased to know that they can waste no time and begin pre-downloading the game as soon as February 20.

The open beta will let all players loose on the game from February 23 through to February 27 which is a pretty lengthy beta. Each player entering the beta will receive an exclusive mission entitled the “Unidad Conspiracy” mission where they will help spark a war between  the Unidad, a local corrupt militia group, and the Santa Blanca cartel, provided they purchase the full game before March 31 using their Ubisoft accounts.

In the Open Beta itself, players will be able to explore 2 provinces among the 21 available in the final game; Itacua and Montuyoc. Itacua is a mountainous province where the cartel’s grip over the land is much looser. Montuyoc on the other hand is much more challenging. Players who clear the Itacua province will receive XP and skill boosts to help them tackle Montuyoc, however they can also take on this province immediately.

As this is an open beta for a game that’s described as “one of the biggest Ubisoft games to date,” there will likely be some teething issues so don’t expect things to go smoothly within the first few hours or even days.

We’re hopeful things will go well, but we’re also realistic…
