The Open Beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is almost upon us which is good news for those yet to get access to the Closed Beta, however it’s not so great news for Closed Beta participants, especially those who have made plenty of progress in the game.
Having been in Closed Beta since October last year, you can definitely expect that the more committed player has made some headway in terms of progression and cards collected. However CD Projekt Red has detailed the end of the Closed Beta and its transition to Open Beta.
One of these details is that when the Open Beta launches, all progress and cards collected will be wiped so everyone can start on an even playing field. This means all player levels, Ore and Scraps will be completely reset to zero.
Fortunately, it’s not all bad as CD PR has revealed that any Kegs purchased with real money will be returned to players. There’s also a handful of other goodies coming to Closed Beta participants including:
- Card Kegs for Player Levels — starting from level 5, you get 2 Kegs every 5 levels
- Card Kegs for your rank — 2 Kegs for each rank
- All end-season rewards
- All items granted as gifts from CD PROJEKT RED (like the gift premium Geralt card)
Finally, anyone who signed up for the beta in 2016 will get access by the end of this week with additional invites being sent out imminently.
