Fullmetal Alchemist: Conquerors of Shambala Should get a Sequel

I must say, the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie does look promising, but I’m still carrying emotional baggage from Dragon Ball Evolution.

My passion for the adventures of Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse has been re-kindled since I binge-watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I needed a 7-year break from it all after I crammed so much of the original anime into a very short period of time. By the end of it, I was clapping my hands together absentmindedly hoping I could transmute something.

Of course, once you get a bit of something good, you fancy a little bit more, so I re-visited the first feature length movie, Conquerors of Shambala. For those of you who aren’t in the know, you’ve got two different animes that are based off the Fullmetal Alchemist manga.

The first one gets so far and had to create its own ending since the manga wasn’t finished, and about half through it massively goes off course from the manga.

The second anime, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a more accurate interpretation of the manga. Kind of like how Dragon Ball Kai followed the Dragon Ball Z manga a lot more closely.

But anyway, I ended up watch Conquerors of Shambala again. This is the movie which is supposed to tie up the all the lose ends from the anime after Edward Elric sacrifices himself to return his brother’s body, however, instead of dying he ends up in Germany during the early 1920s, roughly about the time Hitler starts to gain power.

After a rip-roaring adventure involving Nazis and Edward and Al being reunited, we end with the brothers back in Germany and back together again as they head off into the sunset.

Though, I think there is one more story to be told from this universe since the boys task themselves with tracking down a rogue nuclear bomb. That my friends, in my opinion, deserves a sequel. How would two heavily regulated demi-gods go around stopping the use of a powerful weapon?

In this parallel world, who would the familiar faces fit in? Would friends be enemies and would enemies be even bigger threats in this world? C’mon guys, this movie had a happy ending but I feel like Ed and Al have one more adventure in them.
